The best thing about Creativity Lab is that kids are encouraged to create their own art, not copy someone else's. The structure of the class revolves around learning artistic  techniques and styles so kids can make art that is unique to them. It is a place for kids to come experiment with different styles and materials they have never tried before and learn styles that they can use to create their own art in the future.

Capitalizing on Creativity

About Me

I'm Janie Egan and this is my fourth year teaching Creativity Lab art classes! I am a junior in high school and I have loved art for my entire life, so I started Creativity Lab as a way to do what I love and share it with my community in a fun and silly environment. Because I have been teaching classes for so long I have had the ability to change the structure of the class based on the past, so I know that this year will be the best one yet! In addition I am babysitter certified, First Aid certified, and have a lot of childcare experience, but one of my parents will also be present at each class in case of an emergency.

Class Structure

All kids ages 7-12 are welcome to participate in Creativity Lab, no matter their skill level or experience. Our projects are designed to fit the personal ability of each participant, so every student can have fun and grow their skills during each class. Classes run for about two hours during which we will completely finish each project and a group drawing game. The cost for the class includes all of the needed materials and smocks are provided, however it is advised that you wear short sleeves as acrylic paint won't come out of clothes in case of a spill.
